This walk is situated in sandstone country north-east of Helidon at the head of Redbank Creek. I’m still as enthusiastic about this area as when I first discovered it 20 years ago. It has spectacular views & much of geological & botanical interest – and very little lantana. The wattle in particular should be flowering well due to the exceptionally good season.
The walk I propose is an undulating circuit with about 300 metres to be lost and regained. The majority of the walk is on 4wd management trails. About a third of the walk is off-track, but the understorey is relatively open. Participants will need to be comfortable walking off-track as there are a couple of sandstone razorback ridges to negotiate.
